Synopsis: A spoken word explosion is another way to give a picture of the praise singing, slam and storytelling. It is the unveiling of a new signature of word play, rhyme, narrative and lyrical poetry. ‘The Unveiling’ will include inspirational and unique words, exploring the art of storytelling through the modern style of narrative poetry or lyrical poetry and praise singing.
‘ArtSpoken- The Unveiling’ is a spoken word saturated which fuses modern indigenous sounds with inspiring afro jazz mix and contemporary sounds influenced by: Kwame Experience, Stimela, Philip Tabane and Malombo, giving the audience a fresh experience of South African music and praise poetry (direto).
Within the wide range of narrative poetry, storytelling and praise (direto), there are songs like ‘Bothata’, a rhythmic tale of a 12-year-old young girl who was kidnaped, raped and then murdered. But the show also reflects on stories of our people and how they deal with social ills and/or celebrate their achievements.
‘ArtSpoken-The Unveiling’ is a journey that echoes a true South African expression of contemporary song, praise singing and movement.
