The Indie Spotlight is committed to the spirit of accessibility. Giving independent theatre practitioners that are (or have been) ‘working in the dark’ a modest yet vibrant launching platform.

Here they can showcase their work in order to have it discovered by the widest possible audience in the community and around the province and the arts industry as a whole, through the necessary support structure of resources and skills it seeks to drive independent theatre makers towards a strong uncompromising belief in artistic excellence and thereby attracting and maintaining a strong audience-base that will first and foremost strategically benefit the State Theatre’s ‘audience development’ objectives and expand the industry as a whole.
