A musical show that promotes live performances from Jazz, African Indigenous Contemporary, Poetry, Afro Soul, etc.

The South African State Theatre and AFCO are providing a platform for Tshwane artists, which was declared and known as the “home of jazz” due to the Morabi genre that originated from Marabastad.

Songs and Rhythms is aimed at celebrating and acknowledging legendary artists, to share the stage with young inspiring talents and preserve our indigenous heritage.

Tebogo ka Sepedi ke “go Leboga”, translated in English means "Gratitude" coupled with Hessy (meaning star) is Gratitude for the Star. She is a multi- talented artist from Rabie-Ridge in Midrand South Africa. From an early age she has always shown interest in music, she sang along to every song that played in her presence. As she grew up, her love and interest in music escalated and she began doing studio gigs and sessions with various artists including working and being mentored by South African legendary jazz artist Selaelo Selota. At the age of 25 she is well on her way up, as she embarks on a journey as a solo artist.

Here are some projects she has been involved in:
Musicals/Theatre
- Umoja-The Spirit of togetherness (2012)
She was part of the talented ensemble of dancers and singers in the electrifying South African musical which toured the world. It was her first theatrical experience where she fell in-love with theatre and musicals.
- Living Legends-Tribute to South African Music legends (2018)
She was chosen as one of the artists to pay tribute to the music legends of South Africa.
TV
- Live dvd mix show on Bay TV (2017 to date)
She is co presenting a music show on Bay Tv, so her talent is not only limited to singing she can also present and excels in other avenues in the entertainment industry.
Bands
- Braids of Rhythm (2011)
- Blu Lamp (2015 to date)
She is the founding member of a 5-piece band called Blu Lamp which released a jazzy gospel album in 2015.Her role as a lead singer has made Blu Lamp a force to be reckoned with.
- P6(2012-2014)
She was a member of a 6-piece band based in Pretoria.
Choirs
- Tshwane Gospel choir (2014 to date)
She joined the award winning choir in 2014, where she learnt quite a lot musically and otherwise. The choir contributed immensely to her craft and enhanced her knowledge of the entertainment industry.
It is fitting to describe/define Hessy as an artist and not just a singer because she can dance, choreograph, present and act as well. She is an epitome of what an artist is.
