Mandla Ntlaks Ntlatlane
Hailing from Kwa-Mhlanga a township situated about 70km from Pretoria for most of his life he knew that he was going to be nothing else but an artist, while growing up between two cities, Mandla attended Hlolisisa Primary School in his home town of Kwa Mhlanga and Vezukhona Primary in Dayveton while in Primary school Mandla was active as a musician and became a lead singer of a choir at the age of 13.

In 2016 he Matriculated at KwaMahlanga Comprehensive School later moved to Pretoria, where he graduated at the MC Arts academy (Unisa) Mandla like most children from the township, he was discouraged from doing arts as its not perceived as a career by most parents, he then worked for a few months at Eskom but soon he found himself holding a microphone on stage again doing what he loves the most.

Having once been a member of internationally acclaimed Tshwane Gospel Choir, Mandla travels a lot with his band Music Power, having played at many venues across the country including Akhona Ndungwanas wedding,”A re thabeng Jazz festival”he was part of the cast on a play called ”The road to Damascuss”,with his trademark baritone voice he has released a gospel CD as a solo artist and was interviewed by amongst others Rebecca Malope on SABC2.Mandla believes that it as a calling for him to be a Gospel Artist and as a Jazz artist it is all about love and the business side of music.

As we are talking he never stops giving credit to great musicians like the Lucky Dube, Brenda Fassie, Jabu Khanyile as amongst those whom he looks up to and how their music will continue to echo through generations, he says that many young artists do not put a lot of effort in their arts and only rely on talent and that put the creative the arts in jeopardy.
