 SCHOOLS PROGRAM

Arts education in schools is key to the advancement of the arts, building the learners’ self-confidence and stimulating a social and cultural debate that will bring young people to a better understanding of one another.

SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The State Theatre acknowledges that arts education in the early stages of learning in schools is key and integral to the advancement of the arts, building the learners’ self-confidence and stimulating a social and cultural debate that will bring young people to a better understanding of one another

Consequently, The State Theatre has implemented a Schools Programme that will ensure that learners in schools in and around Tshwane; especially from Previously Disadvantaged Communities (PDC) know about performing arts, theatre in particular because it is the art for which is still foreign to a lot of PDCs. Furthermore, we would like to ensure that educators and learners are capacitated and skilled in the field at Arts and to work towards improvement of the standard of performance in various Youth and Culture activities.

Through the School Project, we aim to develop the young people in the performing arts industry and to assist the learners in their arts and culture subject by bringing in the practical aspect.
